Water has started to rise : +10cm last day

Ther level of water has started to rise in the rivers of Soomaa national park. According to observation data of the Riisa water station the rise of water level in Halliste river has been 10 centimetres during last 24 hours.

A big change has happened also on Raudna river, followed by real time Fifth Season Web Camera from our basecamp at Karuskose.

Now is expected that water will rise quicker and quicker every day. In coming days the annual flood starts, called fifth season by local people. One can canoe in the woods, on meadows, fields, roads and even on gardens. The flood is not a catastroph in Soomaa National Park, but a regular phenomenon of nature, which is characteristic to the park and is caused by the singularity of the water regime.

Take part in the canoeing trips, where you canoe in the flooded forests and meadows. Pre-registering is necessary, for that call to Aivar +3725061896 or Algis +3725147572 or send email info@soomaa.com
